Long Fun Day of Many Distractions

So this is all backwards. I'm starting with the fun I had on Sunday, mostly because the rest of the week was just... bleh. But now to the fun stuff. Crepes. Sunday I went to brunch with Don at the Farmer's Market for crepes and coffee. Trés Français. Then we strolled around the Grove, just goofing and chatting and circling. It was fun. Then we went into the bookstore and found a book that has Don's name in the Acknowledgements. It was kinda cool. He's world famous among sauciers, now.
Then it was off to Hollywood and Highland to do some star sighting. Don had earlier seen a hunky bear celeb from some show about the Devil's son, Reaper. He didn't mention it, however, until the boy was out of picture range. So I was determined. Sadly we didn't really see any true celebrities. I saw the Absolut star on the Walk of Fame, that was something. Here's to vodka making the movie industry what it is today. No celebrities, but dayum some FINE looking fake ones. There was the one I call "Porn Superman" - I mean, just look at him. Yeah. He's real, and so is his rod of steel.
We ended the afternoon at the Feast of San Gregornio (which was not actually what it was called, though that was the song I made up in my head). It was nice that cheese, precious precious cheese, got its own festival. Too bad there weren't a lot of sexy Italian men hanging around there, although I would have given our bartender a freebie. Well, after getting all horned up by Superman... I mean... don't judge me!
So here it is, Monday, and I'm sitting back reviewing my week. I have to start doing more. Time is fleeting (Madness takes its toll). This weekend coming up will be more intense - I had Gay Days at Disney on Saturday, Pagan Pride Day on Sunday, and - wait for it - KYLIE MINOGUE on Sunday night. Who's coming with me? I still have two tickets for sale... email me.

Back to School & Meet the Parents

One of the reasons I did so little this week, Back to School Night. Stuck in a classroom, giving the same lecture every 11 minutes to parents who don't really want to know about my homework policy or my website for my class, they just want to know if Aram is doing his work or if Piyola is nice in class. I don't know. I can barely remember half the kids' names. It's only been 3 weeks. So I bluff. Everyone's doing fine, nobody has problems, wait for the progress reports in two weeks. By then they'll hopefully forget that I ever gave them hope and confuse me with some other teacher they met that night. Muahahahaha

Hot

I haven't felt like doing much this week. First, my days are long. I'm not complaining, I'm being well compensated, and I volunteered, but I am usually coming home about the time most normal people do - 5pm or so. Then I'm tired, and I try and nap. But it's so hot. So I don't much get inspired to do anything outside. I mean, with every day over 100 degrees last week, who wants to get out and do anything like hiking or walking or eating... it's just too darned hot.
