Long Beach WomanSpirit Labia-Power Vulva-Centric Womyn-Born-Womyn Saggy-Titty Solstice Festival

Saturday was a long day, and a great day. Roger and I headed down for the Annual Solstice Festival sponsored by Long Beach WomanSpirit. I've been going on and off for a dozen years or so. This was my first time back since moving to LA, and I didn't see anyone I knew. Sad. I saw some boys I'd like to know, but no familiar faces. I did get to see some truly celebratory dancing by women who were clearly having more fun than anyone else there. Sure, I made fun of them, but only because I was jealous of their ability to just let go and have as much fun as their minds could allow. It was awesome to see, really. And I got introduced to the music of Odd's Bodkin. They were fun. And their new singer had me horned up and feeling all va-va-va-voomy. Bianca. A lesbian. Damn. With the voice of an angel. So we watched some dancing, we did some singing-along, we ate kabob and yogurt and followed boys with tails. I bought lesbian water and felt transformed. It was truly a magical day.

Friday Night Twilight and Beyond

Yay! I got to see a good friend and my boyfriend all in one night: Joel and I took in the new Twilight chapter on Friday night after work. He wasn't keen on it, but I wasn't keen on 2012, so we kinda compromised, which meant I got to see the movie I wanted. And it was... what I expected. Yeah, he's hot. HOT. But he can't carry a movie. And it wasn't that great of a movie. But the company was nice. And afterward we went to the Bullet where we got to make some nice friends with nice nuns who sold nice tickets to a nice raffle to help nice children with a not-at-all nice disease. They actually picked Joel's ticket. He won... nothing. A hug. Uh huh. I swear. Anyway, strong drinks at cheap prices. I love the Bullet. The Sisters are just a bonus.

Coffee-Dinner-Coffee

The plan after the above-mentioned Solstice festival was to see the Belmont Shore Holiday Parade. But it was raining. Not much, but enough that I didn't want to stand outside in it. So instead, Roger and I went to have coffee at the Library and hang out. Then we got the idea to have dinner, so we picked up Christopher and headed off to Hamburger Mary's for dinner and drinks. Our very very very sexy waiter Calvin made dinner a delight. Christopher refused to do his pole dance, but I got the next best thing. Afterward, it was coffee at Hot Java while people inside did improv. Badly. We sat outside just to avoid them. Imagine! A truly fun day and night. I'm so glad I went down to LB.

Hittin' It

There is wisdom in the advice that one should not speak of the work one is going to do, for it takes the energy from that goal by speaking. Well, I've been doing it for a week now, so I guess it's ok to mention it. I've been waking up at 5AM every day since December 1 to hit the treadmill and the stationary cycle. I turn 42 in a few weeks. I don't want to be that guy. I want to be a different guy - me, but less of it. So, now you know. That's what I'm doing. If you ever call or text after 9PM and I don't answer, it's cuz I is tired! And maybe asleep.
