Friday. Ah, sweetest day of the week. Yes, one must work in the day, but it holds so much promise. A whole evening opens up into two more days of relaxation. In this case, the evening opened up into drag queens and transsexuals at Hamburger Mary's.

Calpernia Addams - you know we go way back to the No on H8 campaign - hosts a weekly show on Fridays at the West Hollywood Hamburger Mary's. Don had been wanting to see it, and me? Well, I hadn't quite got my fill of drag shows. Yes. Getting close, though. But not yet.

So off we went for some cocktails and cootchie. The show was fun - Calpernia did her live version of "Stunning" and Willam B sang as opposed to lip synching as well. Miss Bar B. Que, a close personal friend of Don's, was there along with... someone else. Someone who I was supposed to know and remember, but didn't. All I remember is she did a bad Britney Spears. Anyway, we stayed until they kicked us out, and got to talk with Calpernia, which was truly a joy. Impossible to imagine all that she's been through and she smiles and laughs and sings it all up. Remind me of this next time I bitch about being bored or something.

Oh, another highlight was seeing some cute boy from Sordid Lives in a drinking contest against a mere mortal. The mortal won, but I think the cute boy let him. Interesting side note: cute boy was introduced along with his husband, Del Shores. So it seems you really CAN get somewhere in Hollywood by sleeping with the writer/producer.
