CLASS CONTINUES

And with all the rest of what I got up to this week, I still managed three days of class. Tuesday was week three of the photography class. We discussed metering, gray cards, and zoom lenses. I bought a new 75-250 IS zoom lens, so was playing with that during class. I think I was supposed to be doing something else, though. But I signed up to take this same class again right after this one ends, so whatever I missed, I can catch later. I like the class a lot, but it is almost 3 hours long and I can't sit still and pay attention that long anymore.

Thursday was guitar class. It just got a lot harder. I learned that having any kind of a fingernail and even a tiny bit of finger fat on the pad of your pinky can just about ruin a career. I guess I need to remember to trim my nails to the quick after work on Thursdays so I can manage the chords. Oh, and we got the bar chord this week - week two, hello? Bar chord? Finger fat? Not gonna happen.

After class, Don and I went to the Spotlight for a drink. It was not nice. Every seat at the bar was taken up, but nobody was there. Half-empty, or in one case fully-empty glasses and bottles lined the bar, but everyone was in the back playing pool or in the front smoking. I sat in front of an empty glass (with no "napkin roof" which some had) and ordered. The bartender served us, then informed me that seat was taken and someone else was sitting there. What? No way. So Don and I had to sit at a table next to the juke box. Lame. We learned why all the seats were taken when karaoke started - everyone came back in to "his" seat and enjoyed the show. Don and I were stuck watching a bunch of ass. And it wasn't nice ass. It was ugly ass.

And then on Saturday - well, and again on Sunday - photo class had a field trip to the Sepulveda Dam area and Lake Balboa. It was fun, but I wanted to get out of there and get to Disneyland with Don. It was meant to be Saturday, but it rained and was gray and cloudy, so it was rescheduled for Sunday, and just look at how beautiful the day was!
