COFFEE, COCKTAILS & RAIN

Thursday night. Guitar night. I almost quit this week. I cut my damned fingernail down to the quick and still couldn't hold a D chord. Damned pinky fat. But I didn't walk out, I stuck through. I had a little voice telling me, "Maybe it takes more than 3 weeks to learn to play the guitar..."

So after class I was eager to unwind and vent about my career as a rock star being dashed on the rocks of fate. Don was nearby, shopping at Rough Trade for a leather shirt for his upcoming Mr. Sister Leather Contest (March 6, if you're interested). I met him there, talked with the guys upstairs for a while (and slavegirl debbie) and bought a purple singlet on the way out. No, I don't have a wrestling fetish, but they were on sale! Then it was off to coffee at the Casbah Cafe - it wasn't a drinkie drinkie kinda night.

We hung out again on Sunday for Single Awareness Day. Thinking that Souplantation wasn't a hot date spot, we went there for dinner (we were right, it was just us and a gaggle of Korean nuns in the place) and then back to Don's house for cocktails and a movie. He had never seen Singing in the Rain and I used to love it when I was a kid, so we watched that and sipped blueberry Stoli and cran into the wee hours. And by wee hours I mean 11pm. Yep, it was an early night, but a fun one.
