I had so much fun. After what was admittedly a shitty Friday, Saturday came along and changed all that. Don was competing in the Mr. Sister Leather Contest at the Eagle Saturday night and if you know leather drag queen nuns like I think you do, then you know this was a party not to be missed!
I got there pretty early, remembering the chaos of the Mr. Eagle Leather Contest a few weeks ago. Glad I did, it packed up pretty tight in there. The Sisters were amazing, and the contest was fun. It actually ran almost 4 hours, but it was light and funny.
From the first round, it was pretty clear that Don was the favorite. Two of the other guys had already competed (and lost) two other contests. They were just title-chasers, it seemed. But Don was sincere. His "Zombie" bar look clinched it for him, I think. How can you look into those dead, dead zombie eyes and not see that he means everything he says about helping the community?
So awards were given, crown - complete with brains - installed, and the party ended. And the work began. Pictures, photographers yelling "just him" and "now the three of you" and "where are all ten?" filled the room. Flashes went off and off and off. Damn, I don't know if all this is worth it. I mean, they were talking AT him, not to him. Still, it was a very fun night, and I'm looking forward to the bigger Los Angeles Mr. Leather Contest in a few weeks, during Los Angeles Leather Weekend.
There are many many more pictures to show, I just picked 8 of them for now. Click on any of them to see the main picture page. |
