And then - as it does - Sunday followed on the heels of Saturday. I woke up bright and early, I have no idea how, but I did. Had a nice healthy breakfast of eggs and toast and juice and coffee. And more coffee. And then some more coffee. Good Sunday.
Around noon, Joel came by and we headed to WeHo for what had been advertised as the Tom of Finland Foundation Art Expo. Now, that word expo should mean something. I don't think it should mean "there is a small room full of artwork and a couple naked guys in the back." I'm not saying it wasn't fun, or interesting, but it was... small. Very small. I had been to events at the WeHo Park before that took over the part... one could walk for hours, stroll booths of vendors, get a snack and a drink, and enjoy the sunshine. This was a room. No snack. No sunshine. But I did get to see Mr. Los Angeles LEather 2010 and congratulate him, and I got to see Don and congratulate him on his Brotherhood Award. I also saw my next tattoo in one of the displays. Look fast and it's a Celtic knot; look closer and it's... well... look closer. I'm totally going to get that done. I think it's hot.
So Joel and I walked to Santa Monica Blvd to consider a beverage, when we passed by The Abbey who apparently now serves infants. The Abbey was too busy, the Mother Lode was completely dead, and so we agreed to get a bite to eat and then head to the Faultline.
It was the right choice. It was busy, bone-crushingly, ass-grabbingly busy. But worth it. Hot men, including two of Joel's friends (hello Carlos and Ricardo if you see this) and many men in various stages of undress on a Sunday afternoon. I'd say this beats church any day. By 8pm I was beat. Dead tired. Not drunk... exactly... just... buzzy-tiredy-happy. And my weekend ended as good as it began. Thanks everyone for a great week! |
