I've had to do this a bit earlier than usual as I am in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday. I hope I don't neglect anything important in my rush to get 'er done.
It was the first full week of having Don and Stephanie as housemates. And the last week for a while, since I'll be traveling so much the next 6 weeks. It's all worked out nicely, and we're getting along for the most part without wanting to stab one another in our sleep. So far.
I worked Monday through Wednesday, then I figured I'd better use up these personal days that I've been accruing for 3 years - they don't pay me any extra for them, and I am pretty sure I can't take them to my next job with me. So I've arranged to have one more teaching day before the end of the year. And I still am throwing away 9 days of sick leave. The kids were actually cheering me on for the job interview I was supposed to have on Thursday in Visalia (cancelled and unable to reschedule since I'll be out of town) and they were happy to know I'd be working in Texas with Pearson this coming week. I promised to be back on Friday so I can say goodbye, take pictures, and sign yearbooks. Nice to have them on my side. That meant I was free to go out and do more this week since I didn't have work to worry about, so that's what you'll read about in this week's update. Some lunches with Stephanie, drinks with Don, groping gogo boys with Joel. All good stuff. And yes, it's Gay Pride Weekend here in Los Angeles, and I have no plans to do anything special for it. But it's only Saturday as I write this, so who knows... I generally do prefer wild over mild, so I may change my mind very soon.
