Wow, what a day. I'm at my Riverwalk hotel in San Antonio having just missed True Blood after going out for steak dinner and the world's largest margarita. It was a long day, and I'm not tired, and it's midnight here, and I have to get up at 6am tomorrow, and it's 100 degrees.
But let me back up.
I had a rocky flight to Phoenix, we had to go through some storm systems that were beautiful to look at but not at all beautiful to fly through. The pilot said something about the storm system starting at 700 feet above ground and rising up above us. We were at 39,000 feet at that point. I can't even imagine. I was almost too scared to look. And then the smoothest most relaxed flight into San Antonio. Some trouble when I checked in to my hotel - namely that they didn't have a reservation for me. Rather, they did have a reservation for me, but checking in Saturday; so when I didn't check in Saturday, they cancelled the room. But we sorted it eventually.
And I had a pre-work dinner and conversation with Tyler, my teaching partner for the week. And I'm excited. I hope to have fun. Wish me luck! |
