I'm finally in Chicago. I was here once - was it almost 20 years ago? - for an interview for United Airlines. I flew in, I went to my hotel, had a drink at a gay bar, then to sleep. I had the interview next morning and flew home. Oh, it was a snowy October. Not much of a visit.
So this time, I've been here a week. It's pretty cool. Amazingly cool, actually. It started out a bit slow... I was feeling a bit lost and alone at first, as anyone would in a new city. I did my work (all the way from 8am - noon) and had so much free time. And Caitlin isn't exactly my type of hangout buddy - a 22yo straight girl from Texas... not so much.
So this week I got to see one of the Great Lakes, I got to flick the bean, and I even walked a mile in the pouring rain during tremendous thunder claps. I got to see fireworks over Lake Michigan, I went back in time to live a Saturday Night Live sketch, and I started dating a guy with whom I have no possible future since I don't actually live here in Chicago. I wonder what he'll say when he finds out I have suddenly disappeared? Ah, there's time to find out later.
Take a look at my links to the right: I've broken down my trip into categories. Beach themed pics together, architecture and such grouped together, and pictures of the new boy also together.
I'm in Chicago for another week. So if there's something you think I have to hit, make sure to drop me an email and tell me.
