GONE AND BACK AGAIN

It's on. New Life, Part 147. It's on.

I've officially been a "San Franciscan" for a week now. True, most of that week I was in Orlando, working my last gig with Pearson, but my stuff has been in San Francisco for a week, and that has to count for something.

So this week you'll read about my trip to Orlando, Florida, and to Epcot - my first ever Walt Disney World park! And you'll see some pics of how I'm settling into my new (larger-than-I-first-thought) place. Still waiting for some furniture to arrive, but otherwise 3 out of 4 rooms are pretty well done.

And, of course, the usual drinking and festivities that you've come to expect from me. I don't want to say that I have to drink to have fun. So I just won't say it. But it sure does make having fun a whole lot more fun!

I start the "unofficial" school year this week; I have a new teacher orientation on Tuesday, and then three days of pre-service meetings on Wednesday through Friday. Sometime during those days I get to see my classroom and get it decorated. Oh, and meet the staff and figure out what I'm teaching. Not much, really, just a whole year to plan for.

I've been a little bit lonely - not seeing anyone when I come home from being out... the place feels a bit empty. It isn't quite my home yet, and nobody is here keeping it warm when I'm not here. Even though Don and Stephanie and I only shared space for a very little while, I got to like the idea of someone being home when I returned.

Having Gustavo up here is helpful - he needs work though, so if any of you out there in SF know of any jobs... get in touch! I need him to stay. He's my crutch.
